Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive Paro – Thimphu Sightseeing

 Welcome to Bhutan! Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will accompany you to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The drive from Paro to Thimphu is a picturesque journey along the Paro River and through the scenic valley, offering glimpses of rural Bhutanese life.

Upon reaching Thimphu, check into your hotel and freshen up. In the afternoon, embark on a sightseeing tour of Thimphu. Visit the National Memorial Chorten, a stupa built in memory of the third King of Bhutan, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Explore the Buddha Dordenma, a gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue offering panoramic views of the Thimphu valley. End the day with a visit to Tashichho Dzong, a fortress and monastery that houses the throne room of the King of Bhutan.

Day 2

Thimphu Sightseeing

 After breakfast, continue your exploration of Thimphu. Visit the Folk Heritage Museum, which provides a fascinating insight into Bhutanese culture and rural life. Next, head to the National Textile Museum to learn about the intricate art of Bhutanese weaving.

In the afternoon, visit the Motithang Takin Preserve to see Bhutan's national animal, the Takin. Take a leisurely stroll through the Centenary Farmers' Market, where you can find local produce and crafts. Conclude your day with a visit to the Bhutan Postal Museum and the vibrant Clock Tower Square.

Day 3

Thimphu – Punakha Sightseeing

 After an early breakfast, depart for Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan. En route, stop at Dochula Pass (3,100 m), where you can enjoy stunning views of the Himalayan mountain range and see the 108 memorial chortens.

Continue your journey to Punakha and check into your hotel upon arrival. In the afternoon, visit the Punakha Dzong, one of the most beautiful and significant fortresses in Bhutan, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Afterwards, take a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of fertility dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kunley.

Day 4

Punakha – Wangdue Phodrang – Gangtey Sightseeing

Today, drive to Gangtey, a beautiful glacial valley in central Bhutan. On the way, make a brief stop in Wangdue Phodrang to visit the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong and explore the local market.

Upon arrival in Gangtey, check into your hotel and take a leisurely walk through Gangtey village. Visit the Gangtey Monastery, the only Nyingmapa monastery in western Bhutan. In the evening, take a nature trail walk through the serene and picturesque Phobjikha Valley, home to the endangered black-necked cranes during winter.

Day 5

Gangtey – Thimphu Sightseeing

 After breakfast, return to Thimphu, enjoying the scenic drive through the valleys and forests. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. You can explore the local markets, visit cafes, or take a relaxing walk around the town if you like to.

Day 6

Thimphu – Paro – Excursion to Chele La Pass

After an early breakfast, drive back to Paro and continue the journey to Chele La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan. The drive offers spectacular views of the Himalayan ranges, including the sacred mountain Jomolhari.

At the pass, you can take a short walk to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and perhaps spot some of the native flora and fauna. Return to Paro in the afternoon and visit the Paro Dzong, also known as Rinpung Dzong, a fortress monastery overlooking the Paro Valley.

Day 7

Paro – Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang)

Today, embark on a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang), perched on a cliffside 900 meters above the Paro Valley. The hike is moderate and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. The monastery, built in 1692, is one of Bhutan’s most revered sites and is believed to be where Guru Rinpoche meditated.

After exploring the monastery, hike back down and return to your hotel in Paro. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Bhutanese dinner to celebrate your final night in Bhutan.

Day 8

Paro – Departure

Sadly, it's time to say goodbye to the enchanting kingdom of Bhutan. After breakfast, our representative will transfer you to Paro International Airport for your departure flight. Take with you the memories of the serene landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality of Bhutan.
