Day 1

Arrive in Paro – Thimphu Sightseeing

Your journey begins as you touch down at Paro International Airport, where you will be greeted by the stunning vistas of Bhutan's mountainous landscape. After completing the arrival formalities, you will embark on a scenic drive to Thimphu, the capital city. The drive, approximately an hour long, offers a preview of Bhutan's serene beauty. Upon arrival in Thimphu, you will check into your hotel and take some time to relax.

In the afternoon, your exploration of Thimphu starts with a visit to the National Memorial Chorten, a stupa built in memory of the third King of Bhutan, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Next, you will visit the Buddha Dordenma, a gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue that overlooks the southern entrance to Thimphu Valley. The statue, with its golden splendor, is a symbol of peace and happiness. Your day concludes with a visit to the Tashichho Dzong, a fortress-monastery that houses the throne room and offices of the King of Bhutan, along with the central monk body. After an enriching day, you'll return to your hotel for dinner and rest.

Day 2

Thimphu Sightseeing

After a hearty breakfast, your day in Thimphu continues with more cultural and historical landmarks. Begin with a visit to the Folk Heritage Museum, which provides insight into Bhutanese rural life. Then, explore the National Institute for Zorig Chusum, commonly known as the Painting School, where students learn the traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan.

Next, visit the National Library, which holds a vast collection of ancient Buddhist texts and manuscripts. After lunch, head to the Motithang Takin Preserve, a wildlife reserve area for Takin, the national animal of Bhutan. Your afternoon will include a visit to the Textile Museum, which offers a glimpse into the vibrant textile arts of Bhutan. Conclude your day with some leisure time at the Thimphu Craft Bazaar, where you can shop for traditional handicrafts and souvenirs. Return to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 3

Thimphu – Punakha Sightseeing

Today, you will journey to Punakha, a town known for its majestic landscapes and historical significance. The drive takes around three hours, with a scenic stop at Dochula Pass. At 3,100 meters, Dochula Pass offers panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range and is adorned with 108 memorial chortens.

Upon arrival in Punakha, visit the Punakha Dzong, the "Palace of Great Happiness." This magnificent fortress-monastery is situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers and is known for its stunning architecture and historical importance. After exploring the dzong, take a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang, a fertility temple dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kunley, also known as the "Divine Madman." The temple is renowned for its unique tradition of fertility blessings. Check into your hotel in Punakha and enjoy a peaceful evening.

Day 4

Punakha – Wangdue Phodrang – Paro Sightseeing

After breakfast, your adventure continues with a visit to Wangdue Phodrang, a district known for its impressive dzong and traditional crafts. Explore the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, perched on a ridge overlooking the Punatsangchu River. The dzong is an architectural marvel and holds significant historical and cultural value.

Next, drive back to Paro, a journey that takes about four hours. Upon arrival in Paro, visit the Rinpung Dzong, a fortress-monastery that now serves as an administrative and religious center. The dzong offers stunning views of the Paro Valley and is an excellent spot for photography. Your day ends with a visit to the Ta Dzong, originally built as a watchtower, which now houses the National Museum of Bhutan. Here, you can explore a vast collection of Bhutanese art, artifacts, and relics. Check into your hotel in Paro for a restful night.

Day 5

Paro Sightseeing – Hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery

Today is dedicated to one of Bhutan's most iconic landmarks, the Taktsang Monastery, commonly known as the Tiger’s Nest. After an early breakfast, embark on a 4-hour hike to this sacred site, perched on a cliffside 900 meters above the Paro Valley. The hike, though challenging, is incredibly rewarding with breathtaking views and spiritual significance.

Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche flew to this location on the back of a tigress and meditated in a cave, which is now part of the monastery. Spend time exploring the monastery, soaking in its serene ambiance and stunning architecture. After the hike, return to Paro and spend the afternoon visiting the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most beautiful temples in Bhutan. Enjoy a leisurely evening back at your hotel, reflecting on the day's adventures.

Day 6

Paro – Departure

Your final day in Bhutan begins with breakfast at your hotel. Depending on your flight time, you may have some free time to explore Paro town, do some last-minute shopping, or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. When it's time, you'll be driven to Paro International Airport for your departure, carrying with you unforgettable memories of your 6-day journey through the enchanting Kingdom of Bhutan.
